I seem to have athletes foot just on top of my foot? Right above my toes and on the tops of my toes, not between my toes. Im fairly certain someone else gave me the athletes foot (my girlfriend) while we were in bed. Is this fairly normal to happen? What are the best ways to get rid of it? Right now ive been using the spray and washing/powdering my feet and shoes. Thanks guys
As a healthcare provider I can tell you it is possible to get it anywhere on your feet. It is a fungus that is easy to catch. It needs a warm, dark, moist place to grow. Tennis shoes are notorious for this to happen….they are enclosed and people usually sweat in them, so you can see how it works. You are doing what you should. Truthfully, the same fungus that causes athlete’s foot is the one that causes jock itch. It just has a different name because its in a different place. This fungus can grow on skin anywhere….if it’s moist, dark and warm. The same medicine works.

I have athletes foot, and was told to pee on my feet and it will go away. I’ve been peeing on my feet every morning fand afternoon or 2 weeks. Now my feet are worse off and I have to throw away all my socks, and my shoes are ruined. Even people around me say that I stink. My feet look pruned and pitted, I’m worried they are starting to rot.
Was this advice a joke?
I have athletes foot. But i have not found anything for it yet. The best i can do is wear very clean new socks everyday and give them a very good clean. Try not walk bare foot around the house or what ever.
Can be a pain though
I think your feet can root but not root of.
Also i have never heard of peeing on your foot is good. maybe for cuts

Is it a fungus, bacteria, too much sweat, parasite, too tight of underwear and shoes, not enough air down there,? What are ways to keep them from appearing? What can someone do to make them go away? Methods of stopping them for good? Im just curious, Thanx!!!
Athlete’s foot and Jock itch are skin infections caused by a fungus. The medical name for all of these types of fungal infections is a tinea infection.
Good hygiene is the most important thing that helps prevent tinea infections. Keep the area as dry as possible by always using a clean towel after showering or swimming (also remember to avoid sharing towels). If you play sports and wear an athletic supporter, make sure you wash it as often as possible. Wear clean, dry socks and underwear at all times.
Tinea infections usually respond to self-care, and using over-the-counter antifungal creams and sprays will probably clear them up, though prescription antifungal creams are sometimes required. Be sure to:
* Wash, then dry the area using a clean towel.
* Apply the antifungal cream, powder, or spray as directed on the label.
* Change your clothes, especially your underwear and socks, every day.
It’s important to continue this treatment for 2 weeks, even if symptoms disappear, to prevent the infection from recurring. If these steps don’t work, it’s a good idea to see a doctor. Sometimes, a doctor may need to prescribe a stronger antifungal cream, spray, or pill.
Hope this helps!

I’ve had it for a while on and off. I can’t wear socks or shoes because it gets itchy. It’s itching right now and it kind of burns. I really want to start wearing shoes again but what can I do? I don’t want anymore powder stuff because I want it to go away, not temporarily for a few hours. Help? Any off the shelf drugs?
You should go barefoot as much as you can anyway. The fungus thrives in shoes. Wear shoes as little as possible.

I saw some batters with dirty helmets. Do they get new helmets?
what about in other sports such as basketball? do each player get new uniform per game? shoes?
i read recently that the average ballplayer goes through about 8 uni’s a year, excluding throwback and negro league uni’s.
most players wear the same cap year round and same helmet. infact, some players get pissed when the world series comes around and MLB wants them to sew the world series patch on teh side of of their nicely broken in ball cap.

I recently started to do brisk walking and have lost 40 pounds. I am also following a healthy eating program. My feet are on fire from the balls of them to the tips of my toes after about 30 minutes of walking. I have no sign of athletes foot or blisters. does anyone know if this can be a form of detox? I used to be a runner and never had this type of experience. I have even bought these awesome MBT shoes and am using socks made for running. Also my toes start to tingle and almost feel numb. I have varicous veins so I take supplements for circulation. I would love to hear any ideas.
I also get the tingly/numb toes. I went to a sneaker store and found out that I have a high instep. The way my sneakers were laced, the circulation to the front of my foot was reduced when I walked.
They showed me how to lace my sneaks to account for it, and the problem went away.

I bought these really cool brown leather boots from a thrift store. Seeing how worn in they are, I assumed someone’s feet had sweated/ worn them extensively. I am a hypochondriac and am a tad grossed out by the thought of wearing used shoes, so i filled them with tinactin anti-fungal athlete’s foot powder. This was two days ago, if I wear heavy socks, what are the chances of me getting germs/warts/athlete’s foot.
Spray the insides with Lysol or something like that. If you really really want to go to the extent, buy some insoles at WalMart or RiteAid and replace them over the yucky soles. Or take the yucky soles out and put some new ones on top.
I wear my friends’ shoes all of the time, and it’s totally fine. I say just buy those insoles.

i love wearing athletic clothing. Its not that im not athletic, im just kind of petite and artsy (though i do wish i was an athlete)
So do you think its weird for someone who doesn’t play any sports to wear athletic shoes or clothing like Nike or Adidas?
because i go to an all girls school and its very competitive about sports (the reason i didnt try out for anything) and mostly the girls that play sports have that style and i always feel weird because i dress like a jock and im more of an artsy person.
your opinion?
It’s not weird if you don’t overdo it. Also think of the northface epidemic. 3/4 of the non-athletic population wears those jackets which were intended for hiking. so its pretty much normal.
